Did He Say I Am the Son Of God
This is for those who do not study their Bible. Many people today just take
the words of a preacher with out so much as a question mark. They take what
they are told or taught and put it n the bank. There is a passage in the Bible
that describes people like that. There are those that say, this is what I believe,
which negates what the Lord God has already spoken.
Psalm 49:20 A man who is in honor, yet does
not understand, is like the beast that perish.
Jesus said it this way, Matthew 7:23, "And I will declare to them,
I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!
What He is saying is that when a heard of cattle follows the lead cow,
and she walks over the side of the cliff, the rest shall follow her. Without
question.
So why should we question those that teach? Because they some times
teach what they think or believe. Which is wrong. If the teacher is wrong and
you follow him, you'll find your self in the same place he is.
Matthew 15:14, "Let them alone. They
are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both
will fall into the ditch.
Some people say that Jesus never said that He was the son of God. If
so then why did the Romans call Him, the Son of God? If He never called Himself
the Son of God, why do we call Him, the Son of God?
I'll show you what is written, how it is written, and why and how Jesus
called Himself, the Son of God.
Matthew 3:16, When He had been baptized, Jesus came up
immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and
He saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and alighted upon Him.
17, And suddenly a voice came from heaven saying, "this is My
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
I should stop right here, because if God said that Jesus was His beloved
Son, then we should not ask for no more proof. But because there are those
that need to know, let me show you what else is written, about Jesus calling
Himself, the Son of God.
Matthew 10:32, "Therefore whoever confesses
Me before men, him I will confess before MY Father who is in heaven. If His
Father is in heaven, then the Son of God must be here on the earth.
Matthew 11:27, "all these things
have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the
Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom
the Son reveal Him. Here Jesus called God, His Father in heaven, which makes
Him the Son of who ? The Son of God.
Then in Matthew 26:63, But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest
answered and said to Him, "I put You under oath by the living God: Tell
us if You are the Christ, The Son of God.
A prophet is what some people call Jesus. A prophet is someone who
always tells the truth, and what Jesus said next proves that He is the Son
of God.
64, Jesus said to him,"It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say
to you, Hereafter you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of
the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.
And I'll close with this. John 18:3 Then Judas having received a detachment
of troops, and officers from the chief priest and Pharisees, came there with
lanterns, torches, and weapons.
Matthew 26:47, And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of
the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief
priest and elders of the people.
John 18:4, Jesus therefore, knowing all things
that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, "Whom are you
seeking?
5, They answered him,"Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus
said to them, I am He." And Judas who betrayed Him, also stood with them.
6,Now when He said to them, "I am He." they
drew back and fell to the ground.
Now why do you suppose that the army fell to their knees, when He said
I am He? It was because they knew that He was Jesus, the Son of God, and that
every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord, to the
glory of God the father.
Philippians 2:9, Therefore God has also highly
exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.
10, That at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth,
11, and that every tongue should confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Acts 8:37, Then Philip said, "If you believe
with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe
that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." Even the Roman guards knew
who He was.
Matthew 27:50, And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded
up His spirit.
51,Then, behold, the Vail of the temple was torn in two from top to
bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.
52, and the graves were opened; and many bodies
of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53, and coming out of the graves after His resurrection,
they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
54, So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus,
saw the earthquake and the things that happened, they feared greatly, saying,"truly
this was the Son of God.
