Lesson Seven
Mat: 1-23. “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and
they shall call his name Immanuel, which is translated “God with us”
Isaiah: 7-14. “There for the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold,
the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Lk
1:31 34 35
Isaiah: 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the
government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful,
Counselor, Mighty God, Ever Lasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Jeremiah: 23-6. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely;
now this is his name by which he will be called; The lord our righteousness. 1
con 1&30
Mat: 2-23. And he came and dwelt in a city called
Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, he
shall be called a Nazarene.
These are just a few of the names we are to call the Son of God, but what
shall we call Him? When we pray, should we say,
Thank you God, with us, wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father,
prince of peace, the Lord our righteousness, the Nazarene Christ?
What does the bible say about naming a child anyhow, or anything as far as
that goes? Let me show you some scripture when God said to name someone or
something.
Gen:2,19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and
every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam. To see what he would call
them. And whatever Adam called each living creature that was its name.
In Gen16:11 And the angel of the Lord said to her; “Behold you are with
child and you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the
Lord has heard your affliction. Ishmael-is-God hears.
13, Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You-are-the-god-who-see’s;
for she said, “Have I also here seen him who see’s me?”
The God who sees is called El Roi in Hebrew
Gen:17-5, “No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name
shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.
15, Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not
call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be here name.” (Sarai is Princess)
So far God told Hager to name her son, and God told Abram to change his name
to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah. But God did not tell Sarah or Abraham what to
name their first son.
Gen:21-3, And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him-whom
Sarah bore to him- Isaac. (Laughter).
Nor did God tell Isaac and Rebekah, what to name their twins.
Gen:25-25, And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over;
so they called his name Esau. (Hairy)
26, Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hole of Esau’s
heel: so his name was called Jacob, Isaac was sixty years old when she bore
them.
Abraham named Isaac, Isaac and Rebekah named Esau and Jacob. Leah was Jacob’s
first wife; she named her first son, Reuben, Which means (see a son).
Gen:29-32, So Leah convinced and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben.
Then she named her second son Simeon (Hearing). Gen:29-34 Then Leah bore her
third son and named him Levi (attached). Gen:29-35, And her fourth son, she
named Judah. (Praise).
So far God has not told anyone to name a child a certain name. And Rachel
told Jacob to take Bilhah and have a child with her.
Gen 30:5, And Bihar conceived and bore Jacob a son.
6, Then Rachel said, “God has judged my case; and he has also heard
my voice and given me a son.” Therefore she called his name Dan (Judge).
7, And Rachel’s maid Bilhah conceived again
and bore Jacob a second son.
8, Then Rachel said, “With great wrestling’s I have wrestled with
my sister, and indeed I have prevailed, “So she called his name Naphtali.
(Wrestling’s of God).
Still God has not named any of Jacob’s children.
10, And Leah’s Maid Zilpah bore Jacob a son.
11, Then Leah said, “A troop comes!” so
she called his name Gad. (Troop or Fortune).
12, And Leah’s maid Zilpah bore Jacob a second
son.
13, Then Leah said, “I am happy, for the daughters will call me blessed”,
so she called his name Asher. (Happy).
17, And God listened to Leah, and she conceived
and bore Jacob a fifth son.
18, Leah said, “God has given me my hire, because I have given my maid
to my husband.” So she called his name Issachar.
19, Then Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a
sixth son.
20, And Leah said, “God has endowed me with
a good endowment; now my husband will dwell with me, because I have borne him
six sons. So she called his name Zebulun.
21, afterward she bore a daughter, and called her
name Dinah, (judgment).
22, Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened
to her and opened her womb.
23, and she conceived and bore a son. And said, “God
has taken away my reproach.”
24, so she called his name Joseph. And said “The Lord shall add to me
another son.”
Now to get the last son of Jacob and Rachel you have to turn to:
Gen: 35-18, and so it was, as her soul was departing (for she dies), that
she called his name Benoni; but his father called him Benjamin.
God did not tell Jacob, Leah or Rachel to name any of their sons, but he did
change Jacobs name and told him his name would be Israel
Gen 32:27, so he said to him, “What is your
name?” and he said “Jacob.”
28, and he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel;
for you have struggled with God and with men; and have prevailed.” Israel
(Prince with God)
And again in Gen:35-9, Then God appeared to Jacob
again, when he came from Paden Aram, and blessed him.
10, and God said to him, “Your name is Jacob;
your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel shall be you name, “so
he called his name Israel.”
11, also God said to him; “I am God Almighty, be fruitful and multiply;
a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come
from your body.
Judah became nation. I wonder where the company of nations went? Now lets
go back on the New Testament, and ask, what name shall be given to the, “One
to come.”?
Mat:1-20, But while he thought about these things, be hold an angel of the
Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not
be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her
is of the Holy Spirit.
21, and she will bring forth a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for
he will save his people from their sins.
1 Corin 1: 30, but of him you are in Christ Jesus,
who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and
redemption.
31, that it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”
We call the Son of God, all the things, God said we should call him, but his
name is Jesus. So says the word of God. Amen.
Now the Bible is the word of God! This can be found in John
1:1,2,14 & 17
John 1:1, in the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2, He was in the beginning with God.
14, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we behold His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full
of grace and truth.
17, for the law was given through Moses, but grace and
truth came through Jesus Christ.
As the Word said in the Old Testament, or should I say the Old Word, said
Jesus was coming. And that there would be signs of his birth and life and death
and resurrection.
Jesus was born, the 77th first born, from Adam. This can be found in
Luke:3-23-38. He was also born in the year 4118 from Adam; it was in the 30th
year of the life of Christ, that he began his ministry,
Luke:3-23, now Jesus himself, began his ministry at the age of about thirty
years of age.
Now the Bible makes no mention of how long Jesus had his ministry, but according
to the records his ministry lasted 3 years.
So Jesus was born in the year 4118 from Adam.
Which means 2 years later, when he was taken to Egypt it was the year
4120 f.A. Then at the age of 5 years old Jesus left Egypt and moved to Nazarath.
This would be the year 4123 f.A. At the age of 12, Jesus was left in the Temple,
and was teaching the teachers. This would be the year 4130. So 18 years later
Jesus started his ministry, in the year 4148 f.A.
Jesus was crucified on the 14th day of the New Year, in his thirty-third year
of life. This would be the year 4151 from Adam.
Now we know that B.C. stands for before Christ. Which is used today as a time
frame from the time he was born back to Adam. But the Bible started with Adam
and gave the years from Adam to Christ. This is what I have done. And if you
are thinking that I did this own my own, you’re wrong. God took
me by the hand like I was a blind man in the dark, with bare feet, in a room
full of rocking chairs.
Every time I let go of him I got my toes stuck under, the rocker, if you know
what I mean? If B.C. is before Christ, then when did A.D. start? And
what does it mean?
From Adam to Jesus was 4118 years. And He died 33 years later in the year
4151, now we know there are 120 gen, which equal 6200 years. If A.D. started
the year Jesus was born, then He died in the year 33 A.D. And if he died in
the year 33 A.D. then 2049 years later would be the year 2082 A.D. or 6200
f.A.
4118+2028=6200 years (33+2049=2028)
4118+2049+33=6200 years.
Does this confuse you? If A.D. started the year Jesus was born we’re
in the year 6123 from Adam. Which means that there are 77 years left. 6123+77=6200.
Do you really think we have 77 years to go? Let’s go back to the birth
of Christ, and then I’ll ask some questions. Jesus being born in the
year 4118 f.A. and the 77th, 1st born f.A. should give us a date to remember
him by, BUT!!! If he had been killed by King Herod at the age of 2, do you
think we would be using the letters A.D. now? No I think not.
So you have to ask yourself this. What happened so that the world would say
that this is the year 2005 A.D. or 2005 Anno Domini? Anno Domini The Day of
out Lord.
When did Jesus become our Lord? You have to wonder what it was that
made people realize the fact, that Jesus was who He said He was. With
that in mind let me pose you some questions.
- Did it happen the day He was born?
- Did it happen 8 days later when he was circumcised?
- Did it happen when Jesus Left Egypt or Nazareth?
- Did it happen when Jesus was teaching at the age of 12?
- Did it happen when John the Baptist, baptized Him?
- Did it happen when Jesus came out of the water, and had the Lord God
himself say, “This is my son in whom I’m well pleased.?
- So far the answer is no!! But what pray tell is the answer?
- Did it happen when Jesus raised Lazarus or the little girl from
the dead?
- Did it happen when He was spat upon or when He carried the old
rugged cross?
- Did it happen when He was nailed to the cross and lifted up, for all to
see, and so all people could be drawn to him?
- Did it happen when He died on the cross or when His side was pierced?
- id it happen when they laid Him in the grave?
- If it didn’t happen then, when did it happen?
- When did what happen?
The answer!!!
When he arose from the grave on the 17th day of the 1st month in the year
of 4151 from Adam.
Matthew 17:51 and behold, the veil of the Temple was torn in two from top
to bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,
52: and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had
fallen asleep were raised.
53: and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into
the Holy City and appeared to many.
Jesus said He would be raised on the third day, and so was the saints who
had died before Him. This was a turning point in history. The following
year at the first anniversary of Jesus’ and the saint’s resurrection
would have been 1 Anno Domini.
The first year of our Lord, or the year 4152 from Adam and the year 1484 from
Exodus.
4118+ 33 + 1 = 4152.
I’ll show you later how all this comes together.
In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.
